Rajinikanth's Return with 'Coolie'
The iconic superstar Rajinikanth has made a grand comeback to cinemas with his highly awaited film, 'Coolie'. Despite receiving a mixed reception from critics, the film has enjoyed a successful run at the box office and continues to attract audiences.
As discussions about the film's financial performance circulate, many are curious about its upcoming OTT release.
Update on 'Coolie' OTT Release:
Reports indicate that 'Coolie' is set to be available on Prime Video following its theatrical release. However, the official date for its OTT debut has yet to be confirmed. It is anticipated that the film will be accessible on streaming platforms around October or November 2025, as films typically have a 45 to 60-day window before transitioning to OTT.
Details About 'Coolie':
In addition to Rajinikanth, 'Coolie' features a talented ensemble cast including Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Rachita Ram, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR, Kanna Ravi, Monisha Blessy, and Kaali Venkat. Aamir Khan also makes a special appearance in the film. Produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film has garnered attention for its engaging storyline.
The narrative revolves around Deva, a former gold smuggler turned coolie, who attempts to reclaim his former glory by reassembling his old gang using stolen technology concealed in vintage gold watches, leading to unforeseen complications.
Film Certification and Future Projects:
'Coolie' recently made headlines after receiving an 'A' rating from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) due to its violent content. This rating surprised many, especially since Lokesh's previous films, 'Leo' and 'Vikram', were granted a 'U/A' certificate.
Looking ahead, Rajinikanth is reportedly set to collaborate with Lokesh once more for an exciting new project alongside Kamal Haasan. According to sources, this upcoming film is expected to be a gangster drama, focusing on aging gangsters whose pasts intertwine once again.
